Gah. We received all of two inches here, and people are lost. A short trip, normally a quick 15 minute drive, took over an hour. Plus, there's the standard assortment of SUVs off the road, as folks have yet to understand that while 4WD can help one go, it doesn't help with the more important task of stopping.

The video's loading slowly on my tablet, but I'm going to guess this is the same hike of El Camino del Rey that used to be on Brightcove. The blurb I saved to del.icio.us for that old, dead link is: "Originally built in 1901, this walkway now serves as an aproach to makinodromo, the famous climbing sector of El Chorro."

It was magnitude 3.4. Californians probably wouldn't even notice such a thing, but it was unusually strong for Pennsylvania.
When the earthquake occured, my wife and I were in separate rooms on the first floor of our house. I was sitting in a room that's right on a cement slab, and my wife was sitting in a room that's above our basement.
We both heard a low rumble, like an explosion, and the whole house shook. It wasn't enough to knock pictures off the walls or items off shelves. It didn't even wake any of the kids sleeping upstairs. Neither my wife nor I have experienced an earthquake before though, so it startled us.
It took us a few minutes to figure out what we had felt. We weren't sure until we checked the U.S. Geological Survey website: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsus/Quakes/us2008bcah.php
